About
Azurmendi's professional career combines various facets that have overlapped throughout her life. Her passion for painting has always been linked to other successfully developed activities, related to different aspects of the arts: production and promotional development in the field of music, designing and illustrating various travel documentary projects, creating climbing topos, illustrating the documentary Al otro lado de la cuerda, co-authoring and coordinating the project Expocroquis (which includes the book "Art in Climbing Topos", the exhibition "HARRI, ORRI, ARkatz", and the documentary of the same name), and illustrating the book Geure(R)a about a theatrical project by Janire Etxabe, with texts by Toti Martínez de Lezea.

In her hectic professional activity, however, she always found a way to bring out her side as a painter through the various exhibitions that, in different settings and times, but with great consistency, have been filling her resume up to the present.
Her fondness for travel, the sea, the mountains, and, ultimately, for the environment around her, has led her to paint mountains, people, cultures, landscapes, climbing topos, and more… Without turning her back on academicism, Eli Azurmendi has been able to extract the best from her various professional experiences for her painting, as we can see in a body of work that is both varied and original.
