Premiere of the film HARRI ORRI ARkatz in San Sebastian
With great excitement, today we premiered Jon Herranz's documentary at the Teatro Principal in Donostia, on the second day of Menditour. It was wonderful to do so in front of our friends, many of whom were involved in one way or another in this project that began here, in this city and at this club, Vasco de Camping, five years ago, and which has taken us on a journey to so many places and introduced us to so many new friends. And what's to come...

Presentation of HARRI ORRI ARkatz. Menditour Pamplona
Yesterday we were in Pamplona presenting the film at the Golem cinemas, during the second day of Menditour. Among the audience was the legendary Navarran mountaineer Gregorio Ariz. We had the pleasure of chatting with him and with Iker Uranga, who presented his film “Izarren Zaunka.”

The book GEURE(R)A, hot off the press
GEURE(R)A is a book that transforms vertical dance into words, images, and sound. Born from Janire Etxabe's stage work with Harrobi Dantza Bertikala, it pays tribute to the women burned during the witch hunts, rooted in Basque memory and culture. With illustrations by Eli Azurmendi, poetic prose by Toti Martínez de Lezea, and music by Juantxo Zeberio, the publication offers a dynamic, evocative, powerful, and poetic artistic experience that celebrates the resilience and transformative power of women.

Basque Mountaineering Gala. San Sebastian
Yesterday, the Expocroquis team received the Antxon Bandrés Award for the most interesting activity at the 2025 Basque Mountaineering Gala, held in Donostia and organized by the CVCE to mark its 75th anniversary. The EMF (Basque Mountaineering Federation) has recognized our work with an award that we are particularly excited about. Following the HARRI, ORRI, ARkatz exhibition and the book “El arte en el croquis de escalada/Art in Climbing Topos", the next step will be the premiere of the film that recounts the process, with the contribution and personal touch of its director Jon Herranz, in a magnificent documentary full of protagonists from the world of mountaineering. It will be next December in Bilbao, as part of BBK Mendifilm Bilbao Bizkaia.

Mountain Watercolor and topos Workshop. Okendo KE. San Sebastian
Today we got our hands dirty painting, splashing around with different techniques, experimenting to the rhythm of Jack Johnson playing in the background.
As in all workshops, a magical atmosphere was created, and once again the participants surprised us with unique works in totally different styles.
We also had the luxury of having Lara Amoros and Camille Beurrier, who have participated in our Expocroquis project since its inception, sending us their works from remote locations around the world. They were accompanied by Pauline and Lou Nodet (watch out for Lou, she's a great artist!).

Until March 15, visitors can see a successful exhibition on climbing sketches at the Okendo cultural center in San Sebastián, a collection that showcases the history of this art form and the diversity of styles of numerous artists.

The Picos de Europa National Park Visitor Center in Sotama (Tama) is hosting the exhibition “HARRI, ORRI, ARkatz” art in climbing sketches, until January 10, which aims to raise awareness of the history of this sport, the works, and their authors.

Watercolor workshop at the “Mallos de Riglos”
Today we enjoyed the mountain painting and sketching workshop organized in Riglos by Eli Azurmendi and Chema Agustín. It was a wonderful day with a great atmosphere, paintbrushes, reflections on the art of sketching, and lots of painting (and even some glitter), trying to bring order to chaos to create a small collective work in the style of Chema's Riglorámico, our Exporámico, which we will show at the Picos de Europa exhibition in a few days.
We would like to thank the Riglos Refuge for letting us use their space to work.

Watercolor workshop, San Sebastian
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of welcoming some of the girls from the FEDME women's mountaineering team to my studio as students. Maialen Rojo, Uxue Loizu, and Ángela Altaba were in Donostia visiting the Expocroquis studio, where we held a watercolor and sketching workshop. It's great to see such motivated people, eager to draw and express their activities artistically. It was a wonderful day of conversations about art and mountains, brushes, watercolors, textures, and good vibes, recorded by Jon Herranz and Igor Bellido for the documentary HARRI, ORRI, ARkatz.

HARRI ORRI ARkatz Exhibition, Tolosa
Yesterday we inaugurated the HARRI, ORRI, ARkatz exhibition at the Aranburu Jauregia in Tolosa. The event was presented by the mayor of Tolosa, Andu Mtz de Tolosa, and Aitor Elduaien, on behalf of Mendifilm, as well as the three creators of Expocroquis, before an audience of friends and visitors. There was a mountain atmosphere and small groups of people chatting throughout the six rooms that make up the exhibition, which will be open until April 20, Monday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Panel Talk Comics and Mountains. Mendifilm Festival Bilbao
On Saturday, we had an interesting discussion among artists, moderated by Kike Infame. The title of the discussion was “Comics and Mountains,” but we also talked about illustrations, drawing, and, of course, sketching. In addition to the moderator, César Llaguno, Eli Azurmendi, and Rafa Elorza were also there.
It was a pleasant gathering in which four drawing enthusiasts ended up talking about the Yeti.

Opening of the HARRI ORRI ARkatz exhibition at Mendifilm Bilbao
Yesterday we celebrated the opening of the exhibition at the Corazón de María archaeological site in Bilbao. The event brought together dozens of friends of Expocroquis, including climbers, artists, collaborators, and authorities who have supported the project. In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, after Janire Etxabe's vertical dance and the presentation by Aitor Elduaien and Jabi Baraiazarra from Mendi, the three curators had the opportunity to present the exhibition and the book, which are the culmination of many months of work, before enjoying snacks and conversation among friends. It was an evening to remember. Many thanks to everyone, especially BBK Mendifilm Bilbao Bizkaia, Bizkaiako Aldundia, Bilbao Bizkaia Museoak, Bilboko Udala, and Club Vasco de Camping Elkartea, for helping us showcase our work in such a special setting.
